A GP who knows your name, and has time to use it.
Halcyon is a private general practice built around the one thing the ten-minute system cannot give you: unhurried attention. Same-week appointments, forty five minutes as standard, and the same doctor every time.
Most medicine is rushed because the system is. Ours is not, because we built the system differently.
We keep our patient list deliberately small. That is the whole model. It means your appointment starts on time, lasts as long as it needs to, and is with a doctor who has read your history before you sit down. It also means we notice things a stranger with ten minutes would miss.

What unhurried actually looks like.
A real person replies within the hour. Not a phone queue, not a triage bot. You are offered this afternoon or tomorrow morning.
Forty five minutes with your own doctor, who has already read your notes. You cover everything, including the thing you almost did not mention.
Prescription sent to your pharmacy, referral letter written the same day, and a plain-English summary in your inbox before dinner.
A short message to check how you are getting on. Small thing. Changes everything about how looked after you feel.
Two doctors. One standard.
Dr Rachel Ade
Fifteen years in general practice. Special interest in women's health and long-term conditions. Believes the second question matters more than the first.
Dr Tom Merchant
Family medicine and paediatrics. The doctor parents ask for by name, and the reason our family membership exists.
Asked often, answered plainly.
Do I have to leave my NHS GP?
No. Most of our patients keep their NHS registration. We work alongside it, and with your permission we share anything relevant with your NHS practice.
What happens if I need a specialist?
We refer you privately or back into the NHS, whichever you prefer, with a proper letter the same day. We also chase the referral, which is half the battle.
Is there a joining fee or a contract?
No joining fee, and memberships are monthly. If it is not for you, you can leave with a month's notice and no hard feelings.
